Lotus returns to racing!
Lotus is joining the FIA GT3 series in 2006, with the new Lotus Sport Exige GT3! The FIA GT3 series is for lightly modified production driven by non-professional drivers; the Exige will be going up against cars such as the Dodge Viper, Lamborghini Gallardo, Porsche 911. Mechanically, the Exige receives suspension upgrades (Ohlins dampers), a six speed sequential transmission, datalogging, a full roll cage, and some tweaks to its aerodynamics package. There’s no word on what will be powering this car, though I expect it’ll be a modified version of the supercharged engine found in the 240R. (Source: Autoblog)
