Lotus is celebrating the winning of the British GT3 Team Championship with a limited edition version of the Exige S. Besides wearing the same colors as the race car, it includes just about every upgrade you could imagine – wheels, exhaust, braided brake hoses, sport pack suspension, etc. The cars are being built by Lotus Sport. I’ve taken advantage of a new custom search engine that Google offers to create one that’s Lotus Elise specific. It searches the entire Google database, but search results from website I’ve submitted are given a higher ranking as they’re more relevant. You can check it out here. Ok, so this isn’t Lotus related, but…a friend of mine sent me this link to a recorded telephone call with a telemarketer. Very, very funny and worth listening to!

I had a blast at the Club111 autocross yesterday; my best time was a very respectable 43.159. Not many other Elises beat me, I was quite proud of that time! The car performed well, though was more tail-happy than I recalled it being. Playing with tire pressures (dropping rear pressures) helped quite a bit; if I had worked with it more I think I could have balanced it out even better. There are some pictures posted here, and also in the EliseInfo album. This was the last Northern California Club111 autocross of the years, but they’ll return in 2007…

Lotus has announced prices for the 2007 Elise and Exige models:

Elise: $43,990 ($1,000 more than 2006)
Exige S: $56,990 (note, these are now supercharged!)
