Top honors at a recent tuner car challenge in the UK went to an S1 Elise that had been fitted with an Audi powerplant, courtesy of Auto Teknix. The turbochrged Audi motor has a lower center of gravity than the Rover unit it displaces, though it’s quite a bit heavier (~88lbs). October 1st, 2006Finally…Lotus has announced that a street-legal supercharged Exige S will be coming to the US for the 2007 model year, priced at around $58k ($6k more than a base Exige). Naturally, it has that excellent Exige handling, with the 220hp/165ft-lb powertrain propelling the car to 60mph in 4.1 seconds. Read more over at Car and Driver.
